MacArthur Foundation award to DanceWorks Chicago

DanceWorks Chicago has been honored with a $50,000 grant from the International Connections Fund of the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation in support of a cultural and creative exchange in Mexico City.  One of a dozen Chicago organizations selected for grant funding, the money will support a multi-layered artistic exchange with young dance and music artists in Mexico, centered around their core values of training, collaboration, mentorship, and performance.  DanceWorks Chicago embraces a global perspective of contemporary dance as they nurture young talent, and will bring these passions together as they connect Mexico City and Chicago in 2012.
